Challenges

I have started some challenges with my husband and my good friend.  I am keeping track in the Map My Fitness app and a blog my friend am I set up as well as this blog. I am hoping that by participating in these challenges, I will get more active. I have been getting worse since my gall bladder surgery in May. I have gained 3 pounds since then. I know that isn't a lot, but I was losing prior and I am back on my thyroid meds, so the numbers should be going down. I need to make changes now so that I don't get back over 200. I think these challenges will be the kick in the pants I need.

Test Results

I went in for my physical last week. The results were somewhat shocking to me. I knew my thyroid was off. The shocking part was that the levels were so far off that they were off the charts. I was also told that my kidney functions were off, most likely because I am dehydrated. I asked about some symptoms I have been having for the past few months, and I was told that they are most likely part of my Hashimoto's disease. Some of the symptoms will get better as my thyroid levels level off with medication. We are not able to start working on the other symptoms until that is taken care of. I am hoping that as my thyroid level get leveled out with medication and I continue to work on finding better food choices and I exercise and drink water more, my weight will go down. I really want to be at a healthier weight!

Turning Point

A few months ago I realized I was the biggest I have ever been in my life. I didn't like it. I have started making small goals to make a change. I am keeping track of what I am eating and how it makes me feel. I have been increasing my step goals each time I reach it at least 3 times in a week. I am relearning how to be healthy.
